Where Christ is Present...
At Emmanuel Anglican Church we desire to be a church family that welcomes , forms and sends disciples. Our worship is rooted in ancient practices that have been tried and true to form us in the image of Christ. Also, we have a robust DNA of mission and ministry to our neighbors that speaks to the incarnation and love God has for us. Come and see our growing community!
HospitalityWe welcome one another as Christ has welcomed us. In Baptism, we are welcomed into the life of the Holy Trinity and embedded in His Body, the Church. This radical welcome is despite the fact that we were his enemies and are underserving of it. Likewise, we welcome all who enter into our community at any point with the love of Jesus Christ. We are his beloved, and in our baptism, the Father proclaims the same words over us, "This is my beloved Son/daughter in whom I am well pleased." Our Church has times of hospitality following Sunday service each week and in homes mid-week. |

FormationFormation is about commitment to God and to one another.
The Sacrament of Holy Eucharist is God’s Word made visible, and the substance of it is the life, death and resurrection of our Lord. This Sacrament binds us together with Jesus and with one another as we continue to offer our lives to the Father in loving response to Jesus’ self-giving. As we continue to imitate Jesus in our worship by giving our lives over more and more to the Father, we grow in the likeness of Christ and our character takes on more of the greatest virtues of faith, hope and love. We celebrate Holy Eucharist each week and have catechism classes as well. |
MissionOur desire is to have a ministry of faithful presence in our communities.
We are released and empowered as Disciples of Christ through the Sacrament of confirmation. This laying on of hands by the bishop marks our "lay ordination," whereby we are sent into the world as Christ bearers. As such, we commit to the good of our neighborhoods by listening and learning their needs. Once we have listened to how God is working and have earned trust, we can then serve them best as Christ served us. When people know we care, then they will be willing to listen to what we have to say, and this opens the opportunity to speak into their God given potential with gospel truth. Our community is excited to plan neighborhood activities that offer previews of God's Kingdom come regularly. |
